If you have had a DNA test done and are willing to share your\u00a0ethnic percentages (no personal information needed), sculptor Patty Swygert will convert your data into a color-coded pie chart and\u00a0mount it\u00a0on translucent silk panels in\u00a0a grid with other charts from the community. Using\u00a0color-matching thread, she will\u00a0link similar colors of your chart to\u00a0similar colors of other charts.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0sculpture is designed to address our uniqueness and diversity (the pie charts)\u00a0and our interconnectedness (the web of colored threads) and will be part of the international art event, Art in Odd Places\/Charlottesville.
