If you are unable to attend RootsTech in Salt Lake City, Utah, from Feb. 8-11, 2017, you can participate and expand your genealogy and family history education by watching the sessions live online for free.  Here are some links and resources to get you ready for live streaming:

March 14, 2017 – Bernice Bennett to speak on DNA and Genealogy at Jefferson School

Ms. Bennett’s talk has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
Bernice Bennett is a family historian, genealogist, guest lecturer, author, blogtalk radio host and faculty member for the Midwest African American Genealogy Institute. She will present on the role of DNA and Genealogy, at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center on March 14, 2017, at 6 p.m.

AAHGS BBS Charlottesville/Albemarle Chapter.

Jan. 14, 2017 — Central Virginia Genealogical Association Meeting

Please join us at the next meeting of the CVGA on Saturday, January 14, 2017.

Carol Rush will talk about planning and going on a research trip, and Edwina St. Rose and Bernadette Whitsett-Hammond will tell us about the Preservers of the Daughters of Zion Cemetery.

The meeting will take place from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The address of the Church is 1275 Timberwood Blvd., Charlottesville, VA. It is located on the corner of Airport Road and Timberwood. Coming from U.S. 29, the entrance is on the right (north) side of Airport Road immediately before you reach the church. Drive to the back of the building where you will see the entrance to the Family History Center.
