Jean Cooper will talk about “Making the Connection” – How do we connect the records we find for African Americans before 1865 (i.e., by first name only, etc.) with their records after 1865? She describes the process by which she has traced formerly enslaved families from the Hydraulic Mills area to their now free identities.
