The Fredericksburg Regional Genealogical Society (FRGS) annual Genealogy Conference will be held 24 September 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Main Branch, 1201 Caroline St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. The half-day conference, Gathering Leaves for Your Family Tree, will include six presentations, one-on-one sessions, and sales of books and merchandise.

Bill Henry, of the Blue Ridge Heritage Project will present a program called “The Human Side of Shenandoah National Park.” He will discuss the formation of Shenandoah National Park and the displacement of the thousands of people from the mountains, and conclude with a discussion of the goals of the Blue Ridge Heritage Project.
Please join us at our next meeting on August 13, 2016. Last month Diane Inman gave us good advice on finding elusive female ancestors. This month we will share our challenges and successes in our own research for the ladies in our family trees.

In order to publish a newsletter for Fall 2016, we need several research articles to include in it. I know that you will be doing research all summer, and would like to share your efforts with other family history researchers, so please do send them in. The articles may be edited for length and content, and we cannot guarantee that all articles submitted will be included in the Fall 2016 issue.
Please note that we can now use illustrations (black-and-white or color) with your articles on the web or in print. If you intend to include illustrations, please contact me for details on format and resolution needed.
